The Golden Shamrock Club
The Golden Shamrock Club has now been up and running and running for over four years. It is run, for and by, older Irish people. It meets every Tuesday from 11.30am to 3.30pm at Nottingham Irish Centre with dancing, bingo, a buffet lunch and a lot of traditional Irish craic, all for £1. One of the founder members and organisers Tom Ryan explains that they run regular trips to other Irish clubs around the country and have had three trips back to Ireland, with another six-day trip planned for October. If you’re interested drop in and see Tom and the other Shamrocks any Tuesday.
